Review of the Lagoon Resort on Bora Bora
We had a lovely honeymoon at the Lagoon resort. The only thing we would have changed is the weather which was too variable, going from blistering heat to tropical storms on a daily basis.
The catalogue said the Bora Bora Lagoon Resort & Spa was one of the most magical oasis on earth, a tropical fantasy where dreams come true amid the crystal clear lagoon waters and magical atmosphere of the breathtaking island of Bora Bora.
Well, Charlie has embarrassed himself in front of everyone with his inappropriate Groom's speech and the flight had been way too long so I was not in the mood to be messed with. By the time we landed in Tahiti I was in a childish strop. I wanted luxury and I wanted it now.
From Tahiti to Bora Bora was a second plane ride which was organized quickly and efficiently and soon we were being draped with flower leis as part of a very warm welcome.
The cocktails improved my mood somewhat and then a 10 hour sleep brought me back to being a member of the human race. Here I was freshly married and in paradise!
We explored the resort together and were stunned by it's beauty and the lush environment. Charlie then pointed out that we had eaten nothing except airline food since the wedding reception so we hit the Otemanu restaurant for a lovely three course feast. It really was excellent.
Charlie just popped his head round the door to say his two greatest memories of the Bora Bora Lagoon Resort & Spa were the Ray feeding excursion and the cocktails! I thought the cocktails were fab too and feeding the rays was wierd, but for us girls the highlight was the spa.
Because it was our honeymoon the tour operator booked me in for a fabulous "Bliss Spa Experience" which was an afternoon of serious beauty pampering. It made a particularly rainy afternoon fly by.
When leaving the Bora Bora Lagoon Resort the checkout is a little convoluted, so they need to work on that, but otherwise the whole experience is fantastic. It got the marriage off to a great start.
