Tignes Review
Tignes together with its
more famous neighbout Val d'Isère, form the enormous Espace Killy ski
area. We loved the fact you could ski downhill at a good page for over an
hour from the top of the Grande Motte down to the village of Tignes les Brevieres.
With fast lifts to the Grande Motte Glacier and Val-d'Isère, Tignes offers amazing skiing. There are three resorts, the highest being Val-Claret, which sits above Tignes-Le-Lac and Le Lavachet. Since there is skilling on both sides of the valley (more of a big bowl actually) there is always somewhere new to explore. All three areas also run regular night skiing events as well as heliskiing, snowboarding, tobogganing and any other reckless idea for adrenaline junkies that you can imagine.
Accomodation in Tignes ranges from spartan 'school trip' chalets to hyper luxury loacations. Be careful to make sure you book with a reputable organisation.
As for nightlife, after 2 decades, Harri's Bar is still the place to be.
The girls were so sexy it was criminal. Cocktail hour at Harri's is a damn
fine reason to leave the slopes early.
