The Connaught Hotel, Mayfair, London, England

A favorite hotel for many famous guests now also equally lauded for the fantastic food available.

Named after Prince Arthur, the first Duke of Connaught back in 1917, this old established Hotel has undergone an amazing transformation over the last few years. It has been transformed without ruining the ambience of the place (the majestic curved mahogany staircase is still a central feature) and so now all mod cons can be found at the Connaught in Mayfair.

Angela Hartnett's Michelin starred restaurant serves some of the most perfectly cooked meals in London

The Connaught is a great hotel set in the heart of Mayfair, one of the richest areas of central London in terms of both money and richness of things to see and do for the visitor.

Rooms start at around £130 per night, with luxury suites costing rather a lot more than that. The rich and famous can often be found using the Connaught as a London base and the staff at the Connaught hotel have the reputation for providing really excellent first class service.

For Londoners like myself, we still come to the Connaught for afternoon tea occassionally, despite living close by, just for the joy of it. Much more fun than the Ritz and the sadwhiches are simply stunning.
