Kuredu, Maldives - Reviewed
Kuredu is a fantastic maldivian holiday destination
Kuredu Island is on the the northern side of the Lhaviyani Atoll so it is best to get the air taxi from Male airport. otherwise the speedboat ride is a staggering three and a half hours. The first half hour may be fun, but then your whole body begins to take a hammering and by the time you get to Kuredu you are a total nervous wreck.
Kuredu Island Resort
We went all-inclusive which we felt was better value than the other option. It included the necessities such as food and water soft drinks and booze (but cocktails cost extra). The accommodation was really much better than some of the other maldive villas we have been to, so full marks for that.
The food was excellent almost every day except one where it seemed they had burned or undercooked just about everything. It really was curious and the cause of a lot of poolside discussion, largely because on every other day of the vacation we ate like kings.
The clear waters around Kuredu are filled with life. The sea is rich with corals, fish and other sea life such as turtles which are a lot larger than on television and very graceful and beautiful. The best way to see them is to dive and the dive school was first rate. If you don't want to dive, just snorkeling or even paddling around on the surface gives you the chance to see lots of marine life. However I did like the staff at the dive school and believe you really would be missing out if you didn't try at least one dive.
You can also try your hand at Wake boarding but I was not up for it on my honeymoon.
The island is long and thin so there is a fantastic three kilometer long sandy beach. Ideal for anyone who wants to get away from other people.
In short I heartily recommend Kuredu for a holiday.
