Radisson Huntley Hotel, Santa Monica, California - Reviewed
Santa Monica is a great base for exploring Los Angeles and the Radisson provides a luxurious beachfront retreat.
Review of the Radisson Huntley Hotel, Santa Monica
The hotel is on the waterfront, just around the corner from California Avenue and a minute down the road from the 3rd Street Promenade, the heart of Santa Monica's nightlife. They had valet parking which I really appreciated because I was exhausted after our drive from Topeka.
Despite being in the heart of things the hotel has a relaxed calming atmosphere. A big renovation was completed in 2000 so the hotel has all the modern amenities you could wish for. The lobby is welcoming and has comfortable seating.
The rooms are large, although decorated in an opulent faux nineteenth century style. Ours had particularly vivid green carpets. The beds were very comfortable and the views over the pacific ocean were wonderful, particularly if you are on one of the upper floors.
We didn't eat at the hotel because we wanted to go out every night, but the breakfasts were very good and the staff were very attentive to our needs at all times. If we were ever to go back to Los Angeles I would not have the slightest doubt about returning to the Radisson.
