Renaissance Hollywood Hotel, California - Reviewed
The hollywood renaissance hotel is a very pleasant hotel but surprisingly, the neighbourhood is not exactly swanky. Hollywood is a lot more seedy and downat heel than I was expecting.
We stayed in a standard room, but by flirting with a porter I did get the opportunity to take a peek at one of the The hotel’s Panorama Suites which really do have totally breathtaking views of Los Angeles and the Hollywood Hills plus a great jacuzzi in the bathroom. Ah, how the other half live.
Back to our more modest accomodation which was very clean and very comfortable. I couldn't fault anything except the choice of carpet which attracted static charges from J's shoes.
Had a lovely BBQ Pork and Papaya Roll and a slightly greasy Glazed Duck in the 'Twist' restaurant. I give the food a seven and a half out of ten.
There is lots to see and do in Hollywood but after dark it is apparently a little unsafe. Los Angeles at night is apparently best viewed from the hotel terrace which was nice enough, but not the adventure I was hoping for.
