Fitzpatrick Grand Central Hotel New York Reviewed

We visited this four star hotel in mid town Manhattan in January 2006

The Fitzpatrick Grand Central is about as central as you can get , sitting just across the road from Grand Central Station (iconic steps used in more movies than you or I have had hot dinners). This means the Fitzpatrick Grand Central Hotel is an ideal choice for anyone disembarking from a train in New York after an epic cross country adventure. We had spent a few days travelling and were now in need of a bit of pampering. Thankfully, the Fitzpatrick Grand Central Hotel delivers pampering by the shovelful.

Exceptionally comfortable rooms combined with effortlessly charming staff made our stay here a real pleasure. There was not a cracked tile or unpolished mirror in sight. Everything was just so, and the bedroom decor had a slight 1930's styling to it that very much chimed with the city surrounding us.

I am sorry to say we never ate in the restaurant because there are so many other great places to eat in New York City so I cannot report on the food. However, I can say without doubt, coveniently located within walking distance of Broadway, Central park, The Empire State, Fifth Avenue and the United Nations the Fitzpatrick is a grand choice when staying in New York.

However, I do suggest you avoid the 'Irish' Pub downstairs which is so unlike any pub in Ireland (except for the smoking ban which is authentic) that it put my teeth on edge.
