Pompey is a wonderful place to visit. The historic naval dockyards have masses of attractions for anyone with a passing interest in the sea. You can visit the Mary Rose, Henry VIIIs battleship which was sunk and lay on the seabed for 400 years before being raised in the 1980s. Just around the corner, in a dry dock, Nelson's flagship the Victory is open to visitors. This is a stunningly wonderful attraction which should not be missed. Shopaholics will love the recently built Gunwharf Quays at Portsmouth Harbour.
