A tiny greek wonder

Greece, Cyclades, Tinos

Just a fifteen minute ferry ride from the tourist fleshpots of Mykonos is the little island of Tinos. However in terms of atmosphere this place is a world away. Tinos is quiet, undeveloped and absolutely beautiful. Beach lovers will find deserted sandy beaches, but it is the villages that attract the discerning visitor. There are about 50 of them and each has its own character. The reason is the love of architecture that seems to inhabit the island. Each town decorates in its own manner providing a rich tapestry of colours, designs and patterns to enhance the look of the place.

On March 25th and August 15th each year thousands of pilgrims arrive for the local religious festivals.
