Beers of Brugge

Bruges or Brugge is a haven for those who like rich dark beers. The food is also excellent in town and a great local beer seems to work well with the local food.Straffe Hendrik (literally Stong Henry) is a personal favourite. Sour Gueuze Belle Vue and Saint Louis brews are fermented using naturally occuring local yeasts and have a very distinct flavour not found anywhere else in the whole world. Belgium is a place where they take their beer seriously, so public drunkenness is not acceptable from locals or visitors.
