Instow

United Kingdom, Devon, Bideford

Just a mile from Bideford, the sands of Instow are a lovely sheltered spot for walking by the sea. There are sand dunes, boats, views across to the northam burrows and even an ice cream van that only sells one flavour of ice cream (vanilla). There is also a shop/deli that serves fresh seafood and local icecreams in case you really want something other tha vanilla.

Instow is small, quiet and actually rather lovely.

Instow

I like Instow for the tides. When they are out it is great to wander amongst the boats. As a keen photographer, the combination of sand, sunlight and beached boats are near irresistable. Then head on up to the dunes for sheltered sandy hollows to photograph or fall asleep in.
