Just a few miles upriver from Westminster, the river Thames runs through Kingston.

There are sme of the best waterside pubs and restaurants as well as a beautiful old town centre for visitors to enjoy, but it does all sit cheek by jowl with some rather unpleasant modernist architecture around the station.

However, with live bands and a great range of unique cafes, Kingston is a much more vibrant village than may of its neighbours. I am happy to recommend Kingston upon Thames as a place for an evening out. Particularly good asian food everywhere.
