London Eye

United Kingdom, London, Westminster

The great big bicycle wheel on London's South bank of the river Thames is a modern engineering marvel. It towers over the centre of London, slowly spinning to take visitors high into the sky for unrivaled views over this most beautiful of cities. See Big Ben, Buckingham palace, St. Paul's Cathedral, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre and all the other famous sights.

A turn of the 2000 ton steel wheel takes about half an hour and costs around £15.00 for adults and about half that for kids.

As we reached the top of the wheel (135 metres) We managed to spot the turrets of Windsor Castle which is more than 20 miles away. Definitely one of the best things to do in London.
