More to Tenerife than beaches

The Canaries have over 500 native plant species. The north of the island is green and fertile, The native wines have been produced for thousands of years and even Shakespeare himself praised wine from Tenerife. Spain's fourth largest national park can be found on the island, and within it you will find Mt Tidy, an extinct volcano. There is a cable car for those not wishing to walk up the caldera. The views from the top are simply breathtaking and this is where they filmed Planet of the Apes.

Sky is promoting the Apartments Parque Santiago in Playa de las Americas. These studios and apartments have kitchenettes and fridges and the pool area even has waterslides for the kids.

The parrot park is great, and the penguin exhibition is simply brilliant. They have spent millions to create a genuine frozen environment where the birds can thrive.

The aquarium in the same complex is nothing less than stunning. Sharks swim in massive tanks and if you stand close to the glass it feels like you are swimming with them.
