Perfect Beach in Bermuda
Bermuda, St. Georges, The St. Georges Club
I love the beach (snorkelling is a great way to spend a week getting a brown back) but the additional wildlife walks in a subtropical climate are actually what is attracting me the most. The plants and flowers in that part of the world are so different to here in the cold damp north.
Apparently golf is big business on the island, but quire frankly why spoil a nice walk by carrying clubs and getting angry at little balls? No, leave rounds of golf to those who enjoy them. You will find me in the rough, enjoying Bermuda's wildlife.
Yellow Kiskadee birds and the wonderful longtails (White-tailed Tropicbird) are just two of the 300 odd bird varieties to be found (according to Wikipedia) and although we wont get to see all of them, those two are on my 'dissapointed if I don't' list. Apparently when prevailing winds are running, many North American native birds get swept out to Bermuda, so we may be lucky and see a lot more than we bargain for. I am always optimistic when watching wildlife. Event that perfect beach I mentioned earlier should host some interesting wildlife. Little crabs and spiders of course, but maybe bats in the caves? Who knows? I am so excited by the idea of this holiday and I don't know if she who must be obeyed will even consider the option yet.
Back to my ideal holiday plans... Beneath the waves coral reefs surround the island so we will definitely be donning airtanks, masks and fins on a regular basis. If you have never tried scuba diving before, I heartily recoomend it as a great holiday activity.
