Taking a Spa Break

I wasn't really sure of what to expect. A 40 year old man is not the usual client for a luxury spa break and I felt self conciously fat as I waddled up to reception. A lovely lady signed me in and started asking about treatments. The look of blank horror on my face must have said it all. She suggested I go to my room, relax and someone would be up to discuss the facilities on offer.

Now this was more like it. A fantastic room (no minibar but a free bowl of fruit refreshed daily) overlooking glorious parkland.

My treatment discussion was very relaxed and I opted for a series of massages saunas and pool exercise sessions, combined with country walks and plenty of sleep. I could have stayed a lifetime. After just two days I felt fitter, more handsome (certainly the skin was glowing) and above all, relaxed. I had totally destressed. That usually takes a week on a beach and costs three times as much so my spa break actually turned out to be great value.
