Westward Ho!

The excalamation mark is actually part of the name of this seaside resort on the north Devon coast. A local van sells only one flavour of ice cream (vanilla) as it has done for generations. A couple of surf shops, a co-op, a cafe or three a similar number of bars and an amusement arcade is pretty much it for man made entertainment. The real delight of Westard Ho! is the rolling ocean, pebble beach, sand dunes to the north and cliff walks to the south.

Despite this in June 2008 the local paper was reporting that some study had concluded that Westward Ho! is England's worst seaside resort. I feel this is grossly incorrect.
